Your market is saturated… you NEED to stand out!
With the increasing number of people starting businesses in the holistic health and wellness space, it is more important than ever to take your place and stand out (in a way that is authentic to you, I don’t mean you have to stand on roof tops if that’s not what you’re generally inclined to do!).
Today I share a four tips on what you can do to achieve this.
Know your market.
If your business is in a super saturated market, niche down tightly. If you are new to business it may take a few clients before you recognise exactly who it is you want to serve and how you will differentiate yourself. Narrow in on a sub group within the niche e.g. If you are a women’s empowerment coach, what specifically do you help your clients with? Is it help them to unlock possibilities? To break walls down? You will inevitably help them with more, but targeting a specific area will keep your marketing and message focused and allows you to specialise.
Form connections, nurture your audience. Show your personality. As you may have heard many times, people buy people not products.
By being authentically you, you will attract your tribe. When you come from a heart space you naturally show up as being human. Create your own magic and steer away from cookie cutter approaches, especially when it comes to creating your visual identity.
Create an experience.
When we create an experience for our customers/clients they remember us. Going that little bit above just serving and really think about how you can add a bit of extra value. It may be as simple as a follow-up email or parting gift for your customer/client.
Unique visual identity.
You can build a business without a visual identity, but at some point it will come into play as you become known. People like to have that visual security when they are working with a business. Having a logo for example helps you stick in the minds of your audience. A visual identity has many components to help support your business journey, a visual identity that is aligned to you, helps to encourage your audience to interact, talk about and share.
Colours, patterns, imagery, tone of voice, logo, website, social media profiles… these are all touch points and areas where people will learn about you. It is important to have all of these areas working cohesively together – in harmony, to support your message. It is important to note, tools such as this can also be a detriment to your business if not done properly. Instead of supporting your business, it can help people decide that you are unprofessional, not serious about what you do, untrustworthy and so on. I’m afraid in today’s society, you only have a few seconds to grab someone’s attention. You want people running to you not away from you!
