Here’s why having a strong brand identity can help.
Something I have been thinking about lately is why the business owners I speak with have trouble attracting clients. I’ve decided to share 3 key reasons related to your brand, if you sort this out it will help you on the road to attracting the right people to your business.
1. Looking like a pro
As many of you know, you don’t get much time these days to impress your audience. You might also know that a brand is not just your logo… your brand needs to project the expectations and promises that you make to customers in relation to your quality of service, reliability, trustworthiness, authenticity etc.
If you have hodgepodged your branding what does this say about your business? Let me go a bit further… If you are changing your colour scheme on every bit of content you create it could get confusing for your clients, it makes you hard to remember. With so much going on your prospective client can’t anchor a visual to your brand if it keeps changing. Another example is that if you are wanting to be known as an expert in your field then you need to look like an expert, pixelated images and badly designed marketing material isn’t going to cut it and you will be put to the side with other ‘mediocre’ and ‘ammature’ looking brands. Having a strong visual/brand identity not only helps draw people to you, it also helps you CONFIDENTLY share your message and GET EXCITED instead of hiding in a corner because you are too embarrassed to show anyone what you do! Don’t risk turning away potential clients with an unprofessional brand.
Take your branding seriously! I go into some details during a recent live video I did over on Facebook. You can view it here.
2. Not personable
Many of you that I speak to are your brand, you want to connect with your audience and show up authentically. The best way to do this is to use people in your images, preferably yourself, let people connect with you! Let them see what you get up to behind the scenes, let them see who they will be connecting with. People connect with people. Applying this notion to your visual strategy will help build trust quicker than just sharing product images or object based stock imagery in your marketing materials.
Want to ramp this up the the next level? Do videos!
Videos, especially live ones, help people interact with you and connect with you on a deeper level than a flat, static image does. In today’s world of social media and marketing it’s all about connection, genuine connections. If you brand values are to show up and support people then creating videos is a great way to do this.
3. People aren’t resonating with your brand
Two reasons I have found as to why your audience don’t resonate with your brand.
1. You aren’t connected to it, it’s not a true representation of your vision so your belief in it isn’t 100% there – people can feel this lack of energy and it almost acts as a repellant!
2. They don’t connect with it, not enough research has been done to ensure your visual identity supports your vision, values, goals for your business and who your trying to attract. eg If you are targeting an older demographic, who need calm in their life, they may not appreciate a bright fluorescent colour palette.
Now you have some insight….take a look at your visual identity now… do you look at it and get excited about using it? Are you ‘feeling’ it? If it’s not a 100% YES! Then we should talk. Send me a message telling me what you feel is currently not working with your brand. I’ll then contact you and we can book in a free call to help you fix what’s not working so that you can start attracting those clients!
